ARE THERE SOMETHING GOOD TO KNOW AFTER MASSAGE TREATMENT?

Deep Tissue/Remedial Massage is applied in a systematic way, concentrating on the deeper layers of the body’s soft tissues. It aims to release chronic patterns of tension in the body, through slow strokes and deep pressure on the contracted area(s).

When a deep tissue massage is done correctly, the benefits are experienced within the next few days.

Deep tissue massage therapy is therapeutic as well as corrective. You may feel rejuvenated, or a bit sore, depending on the particular therapy session.

Any stiffness or pain experienced after a deep tissue massage is a completely normal reaction and should subside within 24-72 hours.

Drink water as much as possible after your deep tissue massage treatment, take a warm bath, and drink lots of water and/or herbal teas in order to help the body eliminate any waste products that have been released from the soft tissues.

Avoiding caffeine and alcohol is also to be recommended, for the same reasons.

WHAT IS ACUPUNCTURE?

Acupuncture has been part of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) for thousands of years. It involves inserting fine needles into specific points on the skin or applying various other techniques to the acupuncture points to restore balance and encourage the body to heal itself.

Scientific trials around the world have found that when acupuncture is performed by a skilled practitioner, it is a safe and useful treatment for many different disorders.

The British National Health Service carried out a systematic review of the evidence for the use of acupuncture to treat or manage a range of disorders. They found that there was evidence that acupuncture is effective to treat dental pain, jaw pain and to control nausea after operations and chemotherapy treatment

WHAT IS DRYNEEDLING?

Dry needling is a technique massage  therapists use to treat myofascial pain. The technique uses a “dry” needle, one without medication or injection, inserted through the skin into areas of the muscle, known as trigger points.

Preliminary research  supports that dry needling improves pain control, reduces muscle tension, and normalizes dysfunctions of the nerve impulses transmitted to muscles. This can help speed up the patient's return to active rehabilitation.
